Judith A. Holloway has over 30 years experience in the health care industry, primarily in the areas of clinical and administrative operations and systems. She has extensive experience in various clinical coding systems including ICD-9-CM and CPT.

A noted speaker both regionally and nationally, Ms. Holloway was responsible for the development and presentation of HFS sponsored seminars on the following topics: Basic ICD-9-CM Coding, Intermediate ICD-9-CM Coding, Advanced ICD-9-CM and DRG Coding, Basic CPT Coding, and Intermediate CPT Coding. She has developed and presented client specific seminars on the following subject areas: Use of Clinical Data for Medical Outcome Studies, Medicare's RBRVS System, The Importance of Accurate Clinical Data for Coding and Reimbursement Systems, Performance Monitoring Systems for the Medical Records Department, Confidentiality of Health Record Information, etc.

Ms. Holloway's experience has included responsibility for the management of a coding compliance audit for a large multi-specialty physician group practice in the Bay area, a multi-specialty physician group practice in Kansas, and a University affiliated group practice in Arizona. She developed a training program for the clinical staff of a State Hospital to ensure that Medical Records were documented according to State and Federal Laws.

Ms. Holloway began her career as a Coder in a large acute care hospital. She worked as a management consultant for several national accounting firms before forming her own company, J. A. Holloway & Associates, Inc., in 1989. In 2000 this company was merged with HFS Consultants where Ms. Holloway continues to lead the Health Information Management practice area.

Ms. Holloway has her B.A. in Biology from the University of California, Berkeley and her M.P.H. from the University of California, Los Angeles. She holds certifications from the American Health Information Management Association, as a Registered Health Information Administrator, Certified Coding Specialist, Certified Coding Specialist- Physician based, and the State of California Community College Instructor's License in Business and Health Care Subjects.
