Senior Reimbursement Consultant - Regulatory

We are currently seeking a qualified candidate for an excellent career opportunity as a Senior Consultant in our Oakland, CA headquarters and our new and rapidly growing Orange County office.

Responsibilities:

Manage and exceed client expectations

Develop and maintain productive working relationships with engagement team members and clients. Collaborate to plan the engagement. Direct daily fieldwork, inform supervisors of the engagement status and manage staff performance and budget. Manage expectations of deliverables and timing. Stay informed of business/economic developments and their impact to our clients.

People Development

Encourage independent thinking, innovation and teamwork. Share knowledge with team members, and enhance service delivery. Respect/protect confidential client information. Maintain an educational program to continually develop skills.

Business Development

Achieve growth. Understand HFS and its service lines and actively seek/encourage team members to listen to client needs, contribute ideas, and identify potential opportunities to bring value to clients.

Requirements:


  • A Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field (a CPA, MBA, MHA and/or MPH degree is a plus)
  • A minimum of 2-5 years of relevant, in-depth health care advisory experience, preferably with a Big 4 firm, a regional firm, a health care provider, or a fiscal intermediary
  • Extensive knowledge of Medicare regulations and reimbursement principles/laws; exposure to reimbursement disputes and controversies; experience conducting Medicare technical research
  • Experience preparing and/or reviewing Medicare/Medicaid cost reports, designing/implementing cost finding studies, researching issues, compiling information, and preparing appeals
  • Experience with Graduate Medical Education (GME), Medicare Bad Debt, Wage Index, Organ Acquisition, and Disproportionate Share (DSH) is a plus
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to manage multiple projects is a must
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills is a must
